Date Difference Calculator

Date Difference Calculator

Find the exact number of days, weeks, months, or years between any two dates — plus business days (Mon–Fri) for deadlines and contracts.

Days: —

A date difference calculator tells you exactly how much time lies between two dates — the kind of question people ask every day: how many days until my vacation?, how long ago was that deadline?, or how many weeks are left in the school term? Just pick a start date and an end date and Numbrary instantly shows the answer.

The result gives you the total number of days, the same span broken into weeks and days, and a full years, months, and days breakdown — so a 2,300-day span reads clearly as 6 years, 3 months, and 19 days.

Toggle Count business days to skip weekends and see how many working days fall between the two dates — handy for project timelines, invoice terms, and employment contracts. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate the number of days between two dates?
Subtract the start date from the end date. The result in milliseconds divided by 86,400,000 (milliseconds per day) gives the total days. Numbrary does this instantly and also shows the span as weeks, months, and years.
What are business days?
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding weekends. If you need to exclude holidays too, check your local calendar — Numbrary counts only Saturdays and Sundays out.
Does the calculator include the end date?
No — the result counts the full 24-hour days between the two dates. From January 1 to January 2 is 1 day. If you want to include both dates, simply add 1 to the total.
Can I count down to a future date?
Yes. Set the start date to today and the end date to your target, or leave the end date empty to use today automatically. The tool shows days, weeks, and business days remaining.
